Collection: Yoshida Hamono Kyusakichi

Yoshida Hamono Co. has its roots in the skilled blacksmiths of Kyushu Island in Japan, who were originally engaged in the production and repair of diverse metal tools used in agriculture, fishing, and cooking. The company is dedicated to preserving the traditional manufacturing techniques passed down through generations, and it remains a family-run business under the Yoshida family's stewardship.

Yoshida Hamono specializes in working with ZDP-189, one of the most robust stainless steels commercially available. Produced by Hitachi Metals, this powdered steel stands out as one of the highest-quality options in the market. ZDP-189 can be hardened up to 66/67 HRC, surpassing the hardness of all other stainless steels. While only a few factories have mastered the art of working with such ultra-hard steels, the knives crafted by Yoshida Hamono demonstrate exceptional longevity in retaining their sharp cutting edge, requiring infrequent resharpening.
